When trying to make money off of a site too many webmasters, owners and bloggers rely, or rely too heavily, on one source of income. The problem with this is that unless you have an exclusive advertising contract, most times this will not do it. You need to have multiple streams of income to be a success financially.
This does not mean spamming your site with a million and one ads on your site. That will just annoy your readers. A stream of income plan for your site should look something like this:
* Text based ads that are placed in unobtrusive locations such as between the posts on your blog, in the header/footer of your site or in any other generally unobtrusive location.
* Profits from picture based ads in more obtrusive locations that will encourage clicks and possibly earn a sales bonus.
* Linking to articles on passive income sites that will give you a secondary income as well as proper in linking to existing sections (or posts) of your site that will help to increase your pay per impression revenue from the site.
* Videos from sources that pay you to post them. (Under a PPI model)
* Posts that come from paid posting sites like Pay per post should you choose to use them. Just be sure to understand the full ramifications of choosing to use these sites. They can seem like a good idea at first, but end up with some serious negative fallout.
This gives you 5 potential streams of income for your site right off of the bat. That gives you a real chance to make money from your site without having to make a specific deal with an advertiser. I hope this helps you to make money off of your hard earned page views as soon as possible.
