Your growing blog causes hosting problems?

Running your own self-hosted blog can become tricky once you exceed certain visitor numbers. Getting 2000+ readers a day makes some hosting companies nervous. You may even experience server downtime or weak loading performance of your blog. As the big search engines notice that too, a weak hoster may even harm your rankings!

Fortunately, in most cases you don’t need your own virtual or dedicated server. There are cheaper and faster ways to get a growing blog on the road again. I’ve written about that in my new squidoo lens: Best Webhosting for Big Blogs: Shared, dedicated or managed server? Hope you like it!

  7. @ Okostromanbieter – Is it possible that the engines would use traffic to rank pages? If they did they would never discover new sites only continue to drive traffic to the ones that already had it!

they dont go by traffic because that could be easily gamed, paid ads, traffic exchages etc can easily rank up a bunch of hits and traffic.
